In LA - NO.

Arvin (Bakersfield) is 1 1/2 hour north. That is where I am. If I am around and skiing with my regular guys you can join us. The problem is we are not on a regular program that time of year. There are a lot of skiers that read this board that ski Arvin so you may get an invite here.

My Dad has Horton Lakes in Newberry. That is 2 1/2 hours east of LA. His shorelines need work so if you are looking for smooth water it is a bit of a bummer. On the other hand, if you call ahead he will almost always jump in the boat and take you skiing.

Caynon Lake is South East of LA about 1 1/2 but I think it is always packed and you really have to know someone there.

Honestly LA is a crappy place to be if you want to ski.

10-4, thanks John. When it gets a little closer, I'll let you know if a drive up to Bakersfield in doable and see if you're skiing - that would be fun for certain. I could show you my own prowess making big BOS!
