Baller Kelvin Posted February 10, 2009 Baller Share Posted February 10, 2009 Personally, I'm waiting for the 130 degree rule (air temp + water temp) to kick in down here in Texas. Getting soft as I age.
Baller DaveD Posted February 13, 2009 Baller Share Posted February 13, 2009 Don't you mean the 403 degree rule?

Baller RichardDoane Posted February 21, 2009 Author Baller Share Posted February 21, 2009 As always, it was a beautiful day at the lake. Skier = Randy Walston, M4. Watch the entrance gate on his opener. All you Rated Judges out there - Is he outside the centerline of the RH Gate Bouy ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQbq8cGBUHs
Boody
Pretty good skiing, especially for February. You are not helping with my theory of not shortening the rope yet. Now I want to go out and chop it. Must resist....
Chef23
I am not a judge but it looks to me like he missed the gate.

Baller RichardDoane Posted March 7, 2009 Author Baller Share Posted March 7, 2009 It was not a beautiful day at the lake today. In fact, snow flurries blew through during both my sets.

Baller RichardDoane Posted March 8, 2009 Author Baller Share Posted March 8, 2009 You're just jealous. You need to pactice in all kinds of conditions. If I only skied when it was warm, calm, and sunny, what's going to happen at an event when it's raining & windy. It may not have been my best day in the course, but I did run a -35. We actually spent most of the morning rebuilding a Judge's Tower in preparation for our Memorial Weekend tourney. Greg Badal will be in the Seattle area the weeks before doing clinics at several lakes. So if anyone is interested in getting coached by a Big Dawg, let us know and we'll sign you up. BTW - this second photo was taken less that 10 minutes after the first. Administrators Horton Posted March 8, 2009 Administrators Share Posted March 8, 2009 I skied for the first time today. Air was 75+ & water was Mid-Low 60s. Missed my opener then ran three 28s and two 32s. Tomarrow will hurt. Baller RichardDoane Posted March 8, 2009 Author Baller Share Posted March 8, 2009 So after an extended amount of time off of a ski, did you open at -22 or -28 ?
Administrators Horton Posted March 9, 2009 Administrators Share Posted March 9, 2009 28 - normally I go out at 32. I'll run 28s for a few sets then drop it. Baller RichardDoane Posted March 9, 2009 Author Baller Share Posted March 9, 2009 so in a tournament you'll go 32, 35, then 38 ? That's a pretty manly plan. How often did you get a shot @ -38 ?
Administrators Horton Posted March 9, 2009 Administrators Share Posted March 9, 2009 old SkiDawg once told me that 28 and 38 are nothing alike,so why pracitce 28? I get mid 38 95% of the time BABE’S ★ California Ski Ranch ★ Connelly ★ Denali ★ Goode ★ KD Skis MasterCraft ★ MasterLine ★ PerfSki ★ Radar ★ Rodics Innovation Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes

Baller eleeski Posted March 14, 2009 Baller Share Posted March 14, 2009 Last year Regionals were in Richard's area in Washington. It was really cold and foggy when I skied (the disadvantages of deserving a crappy seed) - as cold as snow. I skied a waterski tournament in the snow in Tahoe. Regionals are in Colorado this year. Who knows - it could snow in July there. And Nationals might make it to Michigan soon - does it ever warm up there? Of course, when Regionals come back to the desert then the whole training plan must adapt. 95 degree water anyone? Eric
