Administrators Horton Posted February 17, 2008 Administrators Share Posted February 17, 2008 I noticed today that D3 is has documented Distance From Tail (DFT) for both measure methods. http://www.d3skis.com/buy/ski_setup.htm  I wish the rest of the industry would follow this example. slalomdude
Whats puzzles me though, is that on their site there is .050 difference between the two methods. On their supplied documentation with a ski , there is a .040 difference. I also think that the difference between the two methods varies with caliper manufacturer. Administrators Horton Posted February 17, 2008 Author Administrators Share Posted February 17, 2008 It may not be perfect but it is a really good step in the right direction. My guess is the diff is more method then tool. slalomdude
Thanks John,I think there may be something to it, as I saw this a Schnitz's siteA friend of mine Earl Mayhew has invented a way to calibrate your caliper so you can get an accurate FORWARD-BACK measurement from one caliper to another. Stay tuned for the article.
