Maybe WaterSkiing is a bigger part of my life than I realized. Gallagher and I were talking about how long we had been together and she knew the day and date of our first date. I on the other hand, I remembered the ski I was on and where Regionals were the year we met. (I have been to a desert on a horse with no name)
The year she and I met, I ran my first ever 38 on an Radar MPD. The next year I ran a few on a Connelly Prophecy. The year after that I ran some on an O'Brien Elite. Finally I have run a bunch on a Strada55 this year. Four skis = 4 years by my math. Gallagher says my math is wrong and I need therapy.

BILL, YOU ARE THE PRESIDENT AND CEO OF CORRECT CRAFT?
Yes, Greg, I am the President and CEO of Correct Craft, builder of the world’s best ski boat!
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE PAST THREE YEARS:
Well, it has been a very interesting three years. When I first arrived I needed to deal with a lot of confusion related to the company having five CEO’s in less than five years. There was some uncertainty among the dealers and employees, and a large number of changes within the company that needed to be made. Correct Craft was a great company, but during the ten years before I came, they had really missed a lot of opportunities to improve. Fortunately, we were able to make the changes that needed to be made and the positive impact of our changes came very quickly.
"We are excited that Bob Crowley has signed on to help take our organization to the next level in its development," said Jim Grew, president of USA Water Ski. "His success in both sponsor and membership development is most welcome. With an experienced and dedicated staff teaming up with him, we can look forward to renewed energy and focus."
An exception to AWSA Rule 13.01 to allow for the “Turn and Burn” format during the 2010 ski year has been granted with a complete review of results to follow at the conclusion of the season. In the “Turn and Burn” protocol a slalom skier, upon completion of a round, can signal to the boat that they would like to go directly into their FINAL round now; i.e. turn and burn (T&B). As an example, a skier who usually skis deep into -38 falls early at -35. They then choose to start immediately at -32 for their third round (from starting dock) and to proceed quickly to their goal of 5 or 6 at -38 or beyond. This option is only available to the skiers in unseeded (Class“C” or under) tournaments.
A large contingent of skiers led by Joe Darwin began in December, 2009,working with the AWSA Rules Committee to formulate an exception template that any LOC can utilize. In experimental tournaments, the Turn and Burn format received positive reviews from both the skiers and officials. Whenoffered, it can reduce the time necessary to run an event and add excitement and strategy to an otherwise routine tournament.
If you would like further details on implementing the Turn and Burn format or request an exception template to submit, contact Joe Darwin
How can waterskiing over a six foot ramp at 70mph and flying through the air 200+ feet get anymore exciting? How can we get people out to see this and how can we make these water sports more accessible? The answer is simple. Do it in the dark.
The LA Night Jam III presented by MasterCraft is now in its third edition and more progressive than ever featuring the 2010 line of MasterCraft Boats towing record breaking ski jumpers on Lake 1 and a Sesitec 2.0 cable system for demos and on Lake 2. The LA Night Jam is essentially an extreme water sports competition along side a family festival.
