Kinsey Barhorst Wins the Dualtastic Encounter
The Buckeye Buoy Tour held it's first ever dual lake tournament on Friday with all slalom skiers competing at Shortline Shores and all 3-event skiers competing at Pleasant Shores. The Top 4 slalom skiers from each lake came together in a Final 8 Head-to-Head at Pleasant Shores on Friday evening prior to the OWSA Summer Meeting.
It was stiff competition in the finals with some matchups coming within a quarter buoy of advancing. Kinsey Barhorst of Sunsite Lakes skied her way through the field with the most consistency walking away with her first Buckeye Buoy Tour win! Mary Nelson of Lake Lottawatta took 2nd place after running her first full pass in a tournament EVER on Friday. Jim McClure of Pleasant Shores took 3rd with Kyle Hessler of Ottawa Lake, MI rounding out the Final Four after running his first career 35 off 36 mph in a tournament! Great skiing and big wins for our finalist who worked their way through a field of 60 skiers.
All finalists received water bottles and sunscreen from Honu and t-shirts from Pleasant Shores. The Top 3 received Buckeye Buoy Tour Plaques, hats from Ball of Spray, and Broodles from Broodle Brands along with the winner receiving a gold Fin Firkin. As always a big thanks to our tour sponsors, hosts, and officials who make these events possible!
